Cross-border travel:
Cross-border travel between Armenia and Georgia is available, but it comes with an additional cost of 90 USD (35,000 AMD) per rental. Please note that starting from the 1st of October 2023, there have been changes in cross-border regulations between Armenia and Georgia.
New cross-border regulations:
To comply with the new regulations, renters are required to disclose their intent to travel across the border at least 48-72 hours before the rental. This disclosure should include the renter's driving licence and passport information. The Rental Agency needs this information to issue a notarial authorisation. Please send the following details to our branch inbox (Operations@ehiglobal.am) and wait for a response to confirm your cross-border validation has been completed. It is important to mention that if the renter fails to disclose their intention to travel cross-border without proper authorisation, they will not be allowed to enter Georgian territory.
Authorisation and insurance in Georgia:
The Rental Agency will provide the necessary authorisation along with insurance coverage while in the territory of Georgia. However, it's important to be aware that there is a compulsory third-party insurance requirement imposed by the Georgian authorities. This insurance can be obtained at the Georgian border and typically costs around 10 USD (4,000 AMD) for a period of 10-15 days.
Penalty for failing to obtain Georgian insurance:
If the renter fails to obtain the mandatory Georgian insurance, a penalty of 125 USD (50,000 AMD) will be applied. Please note that all fees quoted include VAT.
